Meet FPA’s New Campus Initiative Manager

Meet FPA’s New Campus Initiative Manager

Whitney Bahr FPA Campus Initiative Manager
We are thrilled to welcome Whitney Bahr to the FPA team as our new Campus Initiative Manager! A proud graduate of the University of Florida, Whitney brings a wealth of experience and a heart for college students. She has previously worked with The Navigators on campus and contributed her talents to Sea Dog Theater in New York City. Whitney’s passion for sharing the gospel, especially through the arts, makes her a perfect fit for this role.

1. What excites you the most about the potential impact of the Campus Initiative on students’ lives?

I love college students and college ministry. The opportunity to bring them a professional, Broadway-level production for the cost of a cup of coffee is an incredible opportunity to engage college students with the gospel.

2. Why do you believe the Initiative is so unique?

I’ve seen firsthand how God, as the ultimate artist, can deeply impact lives through a compelling theatrical presentation of the gospel like the ones FPA brings to campuses nationwide.

3. What do you see as the biggest benefit for college ministries?

An FPA production of the caliber of The Screwtape Letters or C.S. Lewis on Stage: Further Up & Further In offers a huge catalyst for campus ministries to attract attention and connect Christian students with their unbelieving neighbors.

By offering a nationally recognized event at a premier performing arts venue where cultural ideas are regularly expressed, students can more easily invite their neighbors to an engaging, entertaining and highly publicized show that shares the gospel in a compelling way.

4. What does success look like for the Initiative in the next few years?

Visionary donors have provided funding for roughly eight events per academic year. It usually takes more than a year from first contact to the performance date. My job is to secure the support of campus ministry leaders and align the date of the event with the campus calendar, FPA’s tour schedule and the availability of the performing arts venue. Once that is done, we can begin the extensive promotional campaign to reach our goal of 500 students and faculty at each event.

Every campus is unique, and we want to adapt to each situation. The best part of my job is to meet with them and discover what will work best for them. They do amazing work for the Kingdom!

5. What’s your message for someone considering supporting this cause but unsure of how they can make a difference?

I want to say—YOU CAN! In my role, I’m always looking to touch base with those who can connect me with campus ministry leaders and those with influence on campus. As a former campus minister, I understand how important trust and relationships are to leaders on campus. Supporters like you can pave the way for me to connect with them and help both the campus leaders and FPA reach our mutual goals.
